Employment Resources Available to Help Veterans with Disabilities

Every November we honor America’s veterans and remember all they have done for our country. The skills developed in the military are of true value and in high demand, but explaining those skills to a civilian employer is not always easy. Ticket to Work and many other organizations can help veterans with disabilities promote their strengths and find work.

VeteranApart from Ticket to Work, many other programs are available to help veterans with disabilities find employment and take advantage of their benefits.

Hiring Our Heroes – Hiring Our Heroes aims to help veterans, service members in transition, and military spouses find meaningful job options. Visit their website to find a job fair near you, or to find events for supporters of veterans with disabilities.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) – DAV is one of the oldest veteran service organizations in the country.  Check out DAV Mobile Support services  and seminars to help veterans with disabilities and their families understand their benefits. Go to their website to find a DAV  office near you.   

Paralyzed Veterans of America(PVA) – PVA provides benefits assistance, aids in the search for a truly satisfying career, and provides the path to adventure through adaptive sports for veterans.  Are you looking for a job or need help with your resume? Thinking of returning to school?  Check their site for info on one-on-one career counseling.
