A New Ticket Talk Podcast Episode: Protection and Advocacy for You!

In our newest Ticket Talk episode, we spoke with the Director of a Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security organization who answered some of those questions!
The Protection & Advocacy (P&A) network is the nation's largest provider of legal and advocacy services for people with disabilities. Social Security's P&A Program, known as Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security (PABSS), serves Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries who want to work. PABSS organizations are responsible for protecting the legal rights of Social Security disability beneficiaries by providing information, advocacy, legal representation, and other support services.
This podcast features Lillie Lowe-Reid, PABSS Director of Disability Rights New Jersey. As a PABSS advocate, she represents eligible beneficiaries to remove barriers hindering successful employment. Lowe-Reid explains the advocacy and support that individuals with a disability may need to secure, retain or re-gain employment. Some of these services may include vocational rehabilitation, requesting reasonable accommodations, support navigating other related organizations and services to support their efforts to work and protect their rights. You will also hear some common questions asked by other beneficiaries and a few real-life cases from Disability Rights New Jersey.

Applied for disabilty, after 20 years of having bad neck spine could not lift more then 5 pounds.IT took 3 years was denied 2005,at this time i had enough work credits, plus more that were not recorded , from small business with ex husband WA 1990 through 1995, had so much documents 3 doctors siad i could not do smae type of work, still denied.2010 was granted SSI, had been seeing doctors all this time.What happen to my work credits, should have been gieven a choice at that tome to be retrained.Would like to go to work could nort work full time, also there are bad days cannot work at all.Wish someone would correct my work credtis, had enough when i aplied, have worked since age 14, waitressed most of my life, have haD 5 children which father and i payed for not the state.You should offer people who cannot return to same type of work to be retrained then, not 12 years later, want mu SSDI US Citizen, if i had had my ssdi could have chosse a different type of Doctors'
