Businesses That Do Work With the Government

Section 503 applies to businesses that do work with the government, also known as federal contractors.

Contractors include many different types of business, including many that you may be familiar with:

  • Lowe’s (home improvement)
  • Boeing (airplane maker)
  • Humana (health insurance)
  • Hewlett-Packard (computers)
  • FedEx (shipping)
  • AT&T (telephones)

Section 503 applies to contractors who hold a contract with the government worth at least $10,000.
