Did you recently receive a letter from Social Security about the Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency program that looks like the papers above? If you are age 18 through 64 and receive disability benefits from Social Security, you’re eligible to receive free employment support services from service providers called Employment Networks or state Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) agencies.
You can search for Employment Networks or state Vocational Rehabilitation agencies by visiting the Ticket to Work Find Help Tool. Type your ZIP code or state to find job help in your area. Filter the search results by type or disabilities served. If you know the name of the provider, you can also now type it or part of the provider’s name to find it.
Not sure if Ticket to Work is right for you? Consider getting benefits counseling from a Work Incentive Planning and Assistance (WIPA) project, which you can also locate using the Find Help tool. Many Employment Networks offer benefits counseling to help you understand how working may affect your cash benefits and Medicaid and/or Medicare.
